Fee Protection Policy
In accordance with the Education Amendment Act 1989, your course fees are protected by being held by the Public Trust in a trust account. Monies held in the trust can only be released to NZCC on the authorisation of the Public Trust. The trust account is a multi-deposit account with money held in individual names, and operates on a draw-down procedure on a pro-rata basis each fortnight in arrears.

In the event of NZCC’s insolvency, regulatory closure or withdrawal or partial withdrawal of accreditation, the Public Trust will either refund the remaining unused portion of the fees to you, or alternative arrangements will be made for you to complete your course at another teaching institution. A copy of the Participation Agreement with the Public Trust is held at the NZCC office.

Miscellaneous Fees

Registration Fee (non-refundable)

$200

Airport pick-up Fee (must be requested on enrolment form prior to departure)

$50

Tuition fees cover full tuition costs, use of classroom equipment, reference materials, and use of kitchen facilities. Travel and accommodation costs are additional costs incurred by the student and not included in NZCC’s fees.

It is compulsory for international students enrolled to hold travel and health insurance for the duration of their study. New Zealand Career College can assist your application for medical and travel insurance. The approximate cost for 12 months cover is $460. Insurance cover is subject to acceptance by the relevant insurance company.

Withdrawals and Refunds
If you withdraw from your course on or before the eighth day from the commencement date of the course, you are entitled to a refund of the course fees paid, less an administration charge of 10% of the payment to a maximum of $500.

If you withdraw or otherwise leave your course any time after the eighth day from the commencement date of the course, you may be entitled to a partial refund of your course fees. The amount refunded will be calculated on the proportion of the course yet to be completed, less 10% of the overall payment to a maximum of $500. Any refund paid under these circumstances is at the discretion of the Principal.

If you withdraw or otherwise leave your course after the eighth day of the course start date, and do not receive a refund of the unused portion of your fees, but later resume your studies, you may receive a credit towards fees based on the previously unused portion of the fees already paid. This is at the discretion of the Principal.

Application for a refund must be made on an NZCC Application for a Refund Form available from the Campus Administrator. Refunds may be given outside of the normal criteria for extraordinary circumstances, and will require approval from the Campus Manager and the National Academic Manager. All refunds will be made according to a set schedule.

If the College cancels a course, fees will be refunded in full.
