Programme Aim:
The National Certificate aims to provide a broad range
of business administration knowledge and skills required
of administrators while allowing them to select credits to
match their business administration and IT related positions.
Holders of this qualification will have demonstrated
knowledge and skills in the areas of business administration
and computing.
The flexible structure of the qualification allows providers
and employers to tailor programmes to meet individual skill
needs that reflect the diverse roles and positions required to
meet business administration and IT needs of the business
community at an international level.

• A minimum of 18 years of age
• Requires some computer knowledge and skills

There are 19 unit standards that make up the National Certificate. These units include:
Skills in the Use of a Personal Computer for Work Tasks
File and Documentation Management
Word Processing and Spreadsheet Creation
Database Creation
Exchanging Information Using Computer Technology
Use of Computer Technology
Paper Delivery Plan:
The delivery plan will unfold the following elements which make up the unit standards: Software Applications, Business Communications, Knowledge and Customer Service, Digital Photography, Presentation, Industry standards, Career Development and Employment Issues, Networking Systems, The Computer Virus, Computer Security, Accessories and Appliances and Upgrading Computer Requirements.
Graduate Outcomes:
The course will provide recognition of an intermediate level
of competence, knowledge and skills and assist a pathway
to further education and training sound basis for further
education and training.
Minimum credits specified for interpersonal
communications and writing recognise the need for
competencies that underpin all business
administration roles.
Career Opportunities:
This qualification may lead to employment or further
education in the area of business administration and
computing.
